Red Card is an Indian Young Adult fiction novel written by Kautuk Srivastava and published by Penguin India. This was one of the most fun commissions to work on in 2018. The brief was to capture the three central themes of the book - football, first love and, being a student in the 10th Std.

The handwritten note in the background was actually sourced from the author himself. The trophy with the overlay heart and giant red card was placed to capture the other themes. The main objective was to choose colors and fonts in a way that the book stands out amongst others in crowded bookshelves across stores. The bold red and black combo worked well in that aspect, as well as the white font choice for the spine.
